Work Health & Safety Legislation and updates

Harmonised Work Health & Safety legislation was developed for the purpose of introducing a balanced nationally consistent set of health and safety laws across Australia. However, because health and safety is a matter for each State and Territory, to have effect, legislation must be introduced and passed by each parliament in each jurisdiction before it can become law.

PLEASE NOTE this information deals with harmonised Work Health & Safety legislation only. VIC and WA are yet to introduce legislation to their parliaments and still rely on their existing OHS legislation.
